6 Spontaneous Actions You Do That Hurt Your Rottweiler’s feelings

Gentle handling, kindness and dependability are the ways to raise a happy and confident dog. So, you have to read your Rottweiler’s body language and the actions that hurt their feelings, and stop doing them

Here are some actions you spontaneously doing that hurt your Rottweiler’s feelings

1-   Ignoring them

Rejecting or ignoring your dog attempts to kiss you or climb in your lap hurt your dog’s feelings so much, and may cause them a doggie blues. They consider you the center of their world; depend on you in everything, so they try to get your attention. However, rejecting them is going against their nature as they are considered very social animals. Which makes isolation the biggest reason of depression.

2- Rubbing their nose in the accident

There are some reasons why your dog goes in an inappropriate place in your home, they needed to go for a walk and couldn’t wait, they were scared, or they suffer from a health problem. Dogs may not be always able to hold it and accidents do happen, it’s a signal to take them for a walk more often instead of rubbing their nose in it.

Rubbing your dog’s nose in it exposes them to bacteria, which will make it worse. Also, they may have anxiety for a natural physiological process.

3- Order them to “Come!” for something they don’t like

Don’t use the “Come” command to punish your dog when they’re used to come for a treat, or a prize. Using the same command you use when you want to reward them to make them something they dislike, such as medicine or shower will get them confused and it might hurt their feelings.

5- Not taking their fears seriously, or punish them for it.

Skateboards, thunder, trucks, vacuums or even some floor covers are commonly reasons for dog being too scared. Their reactions might be urinating, shaking, ears back, tail tucked, body low. When you see these signals, imagine yourself facing your biggest fears and your trusted person is laughing at you, your trust in them will be destroyed forever. Reassure your dog instead so they will always trust you.

6- USING THE DOG BOX FOR PUNISHMENT

Their dog box must be their safe private place with their comfy bed. When you use this as a punishment and locking them in it, they no longer consider it their happy place and they will be confused towards it. And then, when you want them to enter it, they will be very upset.
