While speaking to the CBS 12 after the ordeal, Mael admitted that she doesn’t expect anybody to suffer the loss that befell her. She asserts that given another chance, she would do anything possible to guarantee the safety of her dog who was healthy, strong and revitalized and had started climbing walls and running up and down.
It was a great blow to her when it was confirmed that her dog Tula was no more after consuming the pet food. Samples from the food that Mael fed her dogs with were taken to a lab for testing and analysis to exactly ascertain what happened to the dog. A postmortem was also carried out on the dog and Mael said Tula succumbed from poison that the dog food contained.
After carefully carrying out a number of tests on the dog food, CBS 12 found out that the food contained pentobarbital in both Gravy Train and Evanger’s. These pet foods are manufactured by Big Heart Pet Food which is owned by J.M Smucker. Approaching with caution – as she was familiar with dangerous street dogs in the area – to get a closer look, the dog ran over to Kathy, rubbing against her legs, looking for some affection.
Kathy assumed that the dog, named Ella, had been abandoned by her family or had gotten lost. Ella was in bad shape and obviously hadn’t had anything to eat for a while, she looked very slim, especially for a Rottweiler.
Kathy decided the right thing to do was to take Ella home with her. A few days later, Kathy remembered hearing about a bad car accident which happened in the same area and around the same time that she had found Ella.
After realising this, Kathy and Ella headed back to the scene of the crash. Once they arrived, Ella started forcefully pulling on her leash, leading Kathy over to a stash of personal belongings which turned out to be things she had collected and hidden after the car accident.
Kathy was distraught, knowing that Ella, the loyal Rottweiler, was still hopefully searching for her family, but didn’t realize that they were gone.
With more details in hand about where Ella had come from, Kathy contacted the highway patrol to see if she could get some information about the family who were involved in the car crash, and hopefully find one of their family members who would adopt Ella. But, the call to the highway patrol turned up an incredible surprise…
Ella’s family was still alive!
Kathy found out that Ella had actually been hurled from the car during the crash, and then hidden in the woods out of fear, so when the rescue teams came, nobody had seen her. It seems Ella knew her family had survived, and remained at the scene of the crash for almost 2 weeks, hoping for their return.
Michelle – Ella’s owner – had been looking for Ella, all the while Ella was looking for Michelle. Thankfully, Kathy was able to bring the two back together!

Catalina Humphrey was just walking her rottweiler puppy ” Hercules ” on the well known Sawmill trail in the Grogan’s Mill community on Saturday around 4 p.m. Humprey said a man came and crept up from behind and decided to grabbed her shoulder close to South High Oaks Circle and Sawmill Road.
Catalina told KHOU 11 News that her Rottweiler puppy Hercules lunged into action even before she could react.
“Hercules went around and attacked him right behind me. I fell down. I was really surprised because he’s loving and sweet. I never knew he would exhibit that his side,” Humphrey stated.

My 110-pound puppy just sunk his teeth into the man and then bit him again and again said Humphrey.
The man reportedly cursed at her and ran off bleeding and screaming.
“I didn’t have any purse on me. I only had my exercise gear on. I didn’t have anything that would draw me out that made him to attack me like that,” said Humphrey. “I don’t really know what was his intention, but I know it was not good”
Humphrey immediately ran home and called on authorities. She rewarded Hercules with a “doggie spa day” and a bone.
She said Hercules usually has a very gentle personality and she was grateful and surprised to see that his side.
I am beyond grateful to know he protected me. “Because he saved my life, He is a hero” she declared.
Office of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s investigators have collected DNA from the mouth of Hercules’ and a scratch on the shoulder of Humphrey.

Deputies ramp up patrols in the affected area and are on alert since the unfortunate attack.
Also, investigators have been checking hospitals over the entire region for any patient with dog bites.
A sheriff’s office spokesman said authorities do not have reason to believe that the attacker is linked to other recent crimes in the region.
The attacker is described as a clean-shaven male in his 20’s and dark in color. He is believed to be around 5-foot-10 and weighs nearly 175 pounds.

Just to have fun, Gary Gregory taught his rottweiler of years, Megan how to open the front door of his house. But recently, that trick saved his life, as a result of Megan ability to open door for paramedics after Gary was seriously ill and even passed out.
Gary suffered internal bleeding and eventually collapsed at his home as he called for help. As the paramedics came, they struggled to get to Gary since the front door was locked. Megan then sprang into action and was able to let the rescue team in.
Gary wouldn’t have likely survived without her assistance, say the paramedics. Gary calls his lovely rottweiler a “superstar” and “a real hero” and says she really deserves an award.
Right now, Gary is in the meantime scheduled for an operation, Megan is keeping a close eye to ensure he does not come to any more harm again.
Megan then bounced down until she was able to hit the handle of the door of the home as her owner just lay on the floor dying.
It sprang open and hen medics quickly rushed in to assist her Mr Gary Gregory who is her owner, who already passed out after suffering from an internal bleeding.

He managed to contact 999 before he collapsed from a hemorrhage – just a day after undergoing an endoscopy at the nearby hospital.
Later, doctors made him to know that he suffered from a tear in the process, which was searching for gallstones in Gary’s pancreas.
Eventually, the paramedics were able to go in after unlocking the door by Megan, neighbors then told them to just push the handle down.
His two other dogs were licking his face in order to wake him up.
Also, Mr Gregory texted Sean Nichols , 49, his partner before passing out.

He said: I thought I would just die, so I had to let Sean know what he really meant to me.’
Now the pet owner wants his Megan, to be recognized officially..

To save his dear life, the thief ran and tried to jump the fence. Unfortunately, before he could reach the top, he tripped and fell face-down. The scuffle between the thief and the barking dog awoke the owner only to find the burglar sitting on the floor, his head bleeding profusely.
He promptly called the police who rushed to the scene and arrested the thief, who was taken to the hospital for treatment and later to the police for investigation. This is a pragmatic indication that the Rottweiler is a powerful guard dog. If this type of dog could not have been in the home, then the thief would have made away with household equipment, or the owner possibly would have been injured in the process. Horror in the park As Rottweiler Savages a Tennis Ball
Onlookers in a park situated in Waterford Park were today forced to watch helplessly as a Rottweiler Dog rushed after a tennis ball only to roll around in the grass (with the ball in its mouth) after grabbing it.
This attack on the ball which was thrown by the dog’s owner (using one of the plastic ball-pick-up things) serves as a stark reminder that there are certain dog breeds which cannot be trusted simply run around the park freely having a good time.
The same attack also served as further vindication for Councilor Alan Tobin’s resolution to have signs erected in all parks situated within his constituency warning locals of “restricted breeds”, something he openly shared with the public through his Facebook page after successfully having the signs put up.
As you would expect, Dog breeds such as the Rottweiler “responsible for savaging the tennis ball in Waterford” featured prominently on the list. What’s more, those who witnessed the adorable attack were in agreement that any Dog confident enough to chase after a ball and grab it using the mouth should always be kept on a leash round the clock.
One local is quoted saying “the manner in which that dog chased after the ball with its tongue hanging out, panting and finally rolling around after grabbing it, I swear you would think it is the devil himself”.
“As if that is not enough, it carried the ball all the way back to the owner and proceeded to lay right by his feet, anxiously waiting and looking forward to the next throw, a chance to run across the green once again and repeat the same attack on the ball if not worse. Savagery, there is no better way to describe it”.
According to other reports, a bichon Frise who has been constantly treated badly by the owner since birth was spotted lashing out and even bit a toddler in the same park though there are no further reports about that incident
